  1. Great Video. I’m actually very interested in that TrampleTek Blue pressure mat. I already have a Bed Occupancy sensor I made with a random mat off of Amazon and a ESP32, but because it’ll false trigger all the time, I had to build in like a 3 second delay to avoid false triggers, like when rolling around on the bed.

So my question is, does the blue pressure mat you showed have a built in delay or is it pretty instantaneous? Should I expect rolling around on bed will give false triggers?

  2. Before buying the Bond Bridge, make sure your ceiling fans are compatible. Don’t learn the hard way like I did.

  3. My sister’s fridge and my heating system, both smart devices, went on the fritz just before Thanksgiving. Coincidence?

  4. I’m in smart home Hell right now. I love the idea and the uses behind a smart home, but I think I made poor choice Starting to build off a smart home and it gets expensive redoing everything. Right now my issue is trying to find a hub that has compatibility with all my stuff. I do have an instance of Home Assistant running on
Proxmox vm- and just recently purchased a Homey pro hub. My main smart home is Google as I have lots of Google devices Google cameras, and they had lots of compatibility when I first started. So far Google or home assistance have been my best for adding the most devices, but Google is dumb and home assistance is taking too much of my time. Would it be better just to sell off most of my stuff and stuff from Ground Zero or keep waiting for people to develop better support for all my devices

  5. Here is one of my favorites:
Color filament bulbs from WiZ. They are WiFi but afaik they are the only filament bulbs that can do cool white to warm white as well as color

  6. Calling Apollo inexpensive is absurd. You have to be either rich or very bad with money to think those plant sensors are worth it tbh, as neat as they are they’re just way too expensive

  7. With so many advances in ai I really wonder how long until something like sarah from eureka or Pat from Disney’s smart house is going to become a whole package normal people can buy for their homes. Alexa is getting there but compared to the aforementioned ai’s it’s still pretty limited.

  8. Do you prefer your RATGDO or Meross garage door opener? Which is your favorite and why? Thank you for your videos!

  9. Hi Reed, love your videos. I was wondering if you or one of your subscribers could suggest a solution for the following application. I live in the country and have a well. I would like to have an indication on my Home screen that would simply let me know when either the well pump or the house pressure pump are running. I tried using a small switch module but someone tried turning it on on the home app and it blew up because it wasn’t rated for the pumps current draw. So I’d like to find something that is simply an indication with no remote control function. Any ideas?

  10. That remote- thought it would he perfect…. Has no microphone for apple tv.

Too important to do it without. I have a brand new one for sale.

  11. Would love a video for the universal remote. Quick question in the meantime – can it work without its hub via home assistant with zigbee, etc? The standalone remote is about half the price as with the hub on Amazon

  12. By the middle of this video I could feel my bank account balance falling quickly. Could not continue…

  13. Hmmm. Was hoping to find more. My security system Integrates basically everything on here. Smart watering system is nice tho.

  14. I am using HOTO screwdriver for over two years.
Best of its features is look.
Device is bulky, with wobbly top and weak torque with no torque ratchet.
DO NOT BUY IT. Not worth.

  15. The best thing I ever did was figure out how to cross back onto Homebridge after taking everything to Home Ass(istant) which was a horrible experiment for a full year. Now my whole home doesn’t completely stop working at least once per week until I’m FORCED to MANUALLY do the pointless freakin’ Home Assistant system update. AND it’s much more responsive now.

  16. Made it through about half the video before concluding I don’t need or want any of this tiresome shit in my life. Good luck with all your future updates, battery replacements, connectivity failures and my personal favorite, your device is no longer supported. Wow, I had no idea people are into this so deep.

  17. you switched your homepod mini for a sonos 100 and it sounds better? really? the sonos speaker is about tripple the price of a homepod mini, come on man

  18. I guess if you’re OK with giving away all your privacy these home automation tips work but companies are mining your personal information just my two cents no thank you

  19. How do you get 2-3 years of battery life out of your Hues motion sensors? I’ve changed mine in one twice this year alone.

  20. I love the tablet as a home app but what is the software you have installed for controlling the home. I use Google home for my home

  21. Whats going on with those screws for the smart lock? Normally clockwise rotation for screwing, anti-clockwise for unscrewing. Yours seem to be opposite.

  22. Struggling with finding content on how to power the smart drivers for cabinet and baseboard lighting. Is there some type of transformer that can be used as power hub using low volt wire like thermostat wire?

  23. The X1 Remote scroll ball is HORRIBLE and eventually starts to scroll down when trying to scroll up. I’ve had to get a replacement once already for this defect, and the replacement also has this problem. I’ll probably try to get this one replaced as well, but they definitely have a quality issue. Sadly there’s not many other options.

I’m looking forward to getting my Unfolded Circle Remote 3. It’s a bit pricy, but with Home Assistant, you can do a ton of things with it.
